Vision, purpose, destiny are three words which describe the birth of Victorious Living Foundation, which aims to reconcile families, individuals, the Church, Governments and nations to God and each other while demonstrating we can live victoriously by the power of the Holy Spirit through Christ Jesus. Victorious Living’s vision was God-breathed and given to its founder and director, Nicole Erna Mae Francis, MA, D.D., who graduated with honors from the Oral Roberts University with a Master’s in counseling, and concentrations in marriage and family therapy.
Upon her return to St. Maarten in January, 2002 from New Jersey where she helped to advance Rev. Dr. Aldansa Ambrose’s ministry, she discovered a moral decadence had pervaded the island, more so than she had remembered. After a month of rest and seeking the Father regarding the many hopeless, lost and hurting youth on drugs or simply wasting their lives away, the word mentorship continually reverberated in her spirit. It was obvious, that our youth were falling prey to delinquency, crime, violence and drugs, largely due to a lack of adult role models in their lives.
Although she had been scheduled to return to New Jersey to further help develop Rev. Ambrose’s ministry, destiny had it that she was to remain in St. Maarten through an incredible twist of fate. Consequently, Francis, also an ordained minister with John G. Lake International Apostolic Council, in Oklahoma, held a youth revival service where she called the Joshua and Caleb generations to take the land and destroy the giants of drugs, corruption, crime and violence.
One of Francis’ dreams has always been to establish a counseling center. After much prayer and fasting regarding her mission on St. Maarten, she was approached by her friend, Nilda Arduin, J.D, of the Ark Foundation who proposed that she used the Ark Outreach Center to do her practice while coordinating services for the center. It was a win-win situation as the Ark had a building, at a prime location in the heart of town, but no services to provide to the community. Inversely, Victorious Living had services and no building, thus the marriage between Victorious Living Foundation and the Ark Foundation was established.

Victorious Living has seen tremendous growth in its short existence. This growth may not have been realized however, without the dedicated support of its staff, Lynn Poleon, secretary and Patricia Arrindell, M.S., case worker; the board members: Oswald Francis- president, Kathleen Francis- Vice President, James Gumbs- treasurer, Connie Gumbs- secretary and Carmen Labega- member.
Among the services provided are counseling: family, premarital, marriage, individual, group and deliverance; computer education classes, U.S. Visa appointments, Internet and e-mail access at-Victory net Café; free chiropractic exams, free tax advice, and the mentorship program, Victorious Living Family and Friends Network™, a mentorship program developed by Francis.
That God-breathed vision and burden for our youth to be mentored has been realized, though currently on a minimal scale. However, imagine for a moment, a world, the Caribbean, a nation, an island, St. Maarten, our community, wherein neighbour looks out for neighbour and youth are positively guided and mentored by respectable members of the community. Imagine a world, our community, wherein adults not only criticize and ostracize youth, but lend them a helping hand, love them and discipline them into productive citizens, empowered to make a difference in the world.
Imagine for a moment, a network of family and friends, extended across St. Maarten, the Caribbean, and eventually the world. Close your eyes for just a moment and capture this image, a picture of a global family linked hand in hand to protect our children and young people from themselves and others, while providing loving support for each other. Can you vividly visualize such a world or community? This is the vision of Victorious Living Family & Friends Network™. A vision birthed out of the many destitute, neglected, hurting and simply struggling youth and parents who barely have support networks in their lives. It is a vision breathed and birthed by God Himself, whose angels constantly go before Him on behalf of His precious children; Generation Next and Generation Now.
With the theme, “Family & Friends” it is no coincidence that Victorious Living Foundation, whose primary purpose is reconciliation, embarked upon this project with two social partners: The Ark Foundation and the St. Maarten Youth Council Association. With virtually no major financial support, but a burning passion and desire to make a difference in the lives of our youth, their families and our community, they stepped out on faith on August 11, 2002, and still are pressing on.
Victorious Living Foundation through its rapid growth and divine favor and mission, has now relocated to 158 B. Back Street, Philipsburg, St. Maarten. It's new office location has been renamed: Victorious Living Healing Restoration and Training Center, exemplifying the next dimension in which the foundation will be operating. The new building features an Internet Café/Business center, conference room, prayer and counselling room. Training in computer, the word of God, counselling and other empowering life skills are also services provided. The building was officially dedicated on September 1, 2007.
We also owe a great deal of gratitude to our dedicated mentors, volunteers and well wishers, financial partners, without whom we may not have been able to start and/or continue this great undertaking. Our fully functioning mentorship program is a proven juvenile delinquency prevention strategy, however, in the first two years; we were not subsidized by Government. In November 2004 however, we received funding from AMFO, a Dutch funding agency, for the mentorship program and a rent subsidy for the use of the Rupert Maynard Community Center, from Government in 2005, after these institutions realized the relevance and importance of our work. In November 2006, the foundation received approval for funding from Dutch funding agency, USONA for the continuation of our mentorship program project.
Moreover, Rev. Dr. Aldansa Ambrose of Grace Hill Bible College with branches in New Jersey and New York, recognized the work that Erna Mae Francis is doing by honouring her with a Doctorate of Divinity degree on March 31, 2006 during the foundation’s Save our Children Fundraising Concert featuring seven-time Grammy award Gospel singer, CeCe Winans.
Victorious Living Family & Friends Network™ is here for the long haul, for this is a vision, which will not be accomplished over night. With continued support from partners, when we reach greener pastures, Family & Friends Network™ will be a national, regional and global institution, for it is here to stay to positively impact all of our lives.
